What is 6-OXO:

6-OXO consists of a naturally occurring aromatase inhibitor (AI) that is devoid of any direct prohormonal effects (androgenic or estrogenic). It is what researchers refers to as a suicide inhibitor of aromatase. Specifically this means is it will irreversibly bind to the aromatase enzyme and permanently deactivate it. With prolonged use of 6-OXO the result is be a very substantial reduction in the creation of estrogen in the body, along with a coinciding up-regulation of natural (testicular) testosterone creation.

Why should I take 6-OXO:

Estrogen creates a variety of undesireable side effects: water retention, gynecomastia (bitch tits), testicular shutdown, and an overall soft look. So, to achieve and keep a solid, chisled look, estrogen levels must be kept in check. Furthermore, by blocking estrogen biosynthesis, 6-OXO stimulates the pituitary gland to boost LH and thereby increasing natural testosterone creation.

Who should take 6-OXO:

Any bodybuilder interested in achieving a solid, ripped physique. For those athletes who are coming off a prohormone/pro-steroid cycle, 6-OXO is the perfect product to get balance back in the hormonal environment.

For those familiar with prohormones and anabolics, the female hormone estrogen is certainly a familiar enemy. While many of us understand that estrogen is not always a hurtful and worthless substance to men (in the right amounts it is needed and beneficial), we still are aware that it must be kept in check or some pretty undesirable conditions may come about in the body.

When and how you should use 6-OXO:

So how do you useErgoPharm 6-OXO? If you are using it to fight estrogen during a cycle of aromatizable steroids then you should take it every day of your cycle, once daily (preferably with your dinner) at a dose of 200-600 mg. General fatigue hasn’t been a problem at all, in fact I’m in severe danger of overtraining because I worked out at 9AM and now it’s 2:30PM and I want to get back in the gym all over again. What is a typical cycle of Epistane™?
A typical cycle of Epistane lasts 3-5 weeks and has a range of dosages around 20-40mg. Most people run a cycle similar to 20/30/30/40 or some variation. Others, looking for large mass gains, are running 40mg for 4 weeks or more. It is important to ramp up the dosage in the beginning, even if only for a few days.

Since Toremifene citrate is so new there are few anecdotal reports from the bodybuilding community so far. It seems that the reports that are out there are positive. I think Fareston will be a more potent and safer alternative to Nolvadex both for post cycle therapy as well as prevention of gynocomastia. This ‘is especially true for those worried about side effects.

It also makes sense that Toremifene citrate (Fareston) may provide a greater increase in leutinizing hormone and testosterone production. And since it is stronger than Nolvadex it should provide greater prevention for gyno.

Tamoxifen citrate is also helpful after a cycle in that it reduces water retention. This may lead some users to think that their gains are going away. On the other hand it will also lead to a harder look to the muscles which is desirable.

Some users may have heard that Tamoxifen citrate will take away their gains. This is not true. It is based on scientific literature showing a slight reduction in IGF-1 levels in Nolvadex users. This research was not done on steroid users and if the effect exists it has to be very minor. Many bodybuilders have made excellent gains while using Tamoxifen citrate and it is almost a given these days for a proper post cycle therapy.

It should also be noted that Tamoxifen citrate and Clomiphene citrate (Clomid) are structurally very similar and in fact exert the same influence. The difference between the two is that Tamoxifen citrate is a much stronger SERM – 5 times as strong as Clomid.

Finally, Tamoxifen citrate seems to also have a slight effect on increasing testosterone production post cycle. It seems to increase the responsiveness of LH (luteinizing hormone) to GnRH (gonadtropin releasing hormone). This is beneficial because the entire goal of PCT is to restore the natural production of testosterone as quickly as possible so that gains made on cycle are not lost.

Tamoxifen citrate can also be used on cycle if signs of gynocomastia occur. The usual protocol is to start 20mg of Tamoxifen citrate immediately to reduce the symptoms and to start an AI like letrozole or arimidex at the same time to actively reduce estrogen. This can be continued until several days after the symptoms go away.

ATD is technically an aromatase inhibitor, but with some interesting properties that make it a very useful addition to our estrogen control arsenals.

There are two negative feedback loops that we try to correct through post cycle therapy. The first is elevated estrogen levels from aromatase activity act on the hypothalamus to decrease GnRH production. The second is that elevated androgen levels stimulate androgen receptors in the hypothalamus causing decreased GnRH production. Decreased GnRH leads to reduced LH and FSH production, both of which are directly involved in testosterone production.

Typical PCT with SERM’s and AI’s address the estrogen component of this negative feedback, but do nothing for androgenic stimulation of the hypothalamus. ATD addresses the androgenic feedback loop. ATD has 90% androgenic activity in muscle tissue but only 10% androgenic activity in the hypothalamus.

ATD works for androgen activity the same way that tamoxifen works for estrogen. Tamoxifen blocks estrogen in breast tissue, but has positive effects in other tissue such as liver and bone. ATD blocks androgens in the hypothalamus, but allows it to be active in other tissue.

Because of this dual action estrogen levels are lowered while testosterone levels begin to rise. This is because ATD tricks your hypothalamus into thinking testosterone levels are low so it produces more. ATD provides benefits far beyond simply controlling estrogen in your body. Through its control over the androgen negative feedback loop testosterone production is restarted much faster. And the faster you recover your natural testosterone production the easier it is to keep muscular gains.

In addition to ATD’s benefits for post cycle therapy studies have shown that employing ATD during AAS use maintains significant HPTA function. This means reduced testicular atrophy and faster post-cycle recovery. This is something that you simply can’t get from estrogen control alone.

ATD can also be used by the natural athlete to increase testosterone production. In studies increases of up to 400% in testosterone have been seen. This is equivalent to injecting 400-600mg per week of testosterone enanthate or cypionate. This means continued growth for the natural athlete without the problems and side effects usually associated with injecting testosterone.

While there should technically not be any difference between the ATD ptoducts I have personally seen the best results using Rebound XT by Designer Supplements. I believe it is also the most cost effective of the ATD products out there. Your mileage may vary.

I’ve found the following discussion on running SERM’s inverse to ATD’s which is both informative and by all accounts very effective. It has been posted on many forums and the credit for it goes to Dr. D. Thank you Dr. D!

“Discussion on running SERM inverse to ATD
Estrogen only “rebounds” based on the mechanism of suppression. SERM, for example, only masks estrogen expression by occupying receptors but estrogen production is left unchecked and actually increases as testosterone levels increase. AI’s like letro inhibit inducible enzymes and just like a leaky faucet, they body will eventually try to balance the equation with increased aromatase activity. Steroidal AI’s like Teslac, Exemestane, and ReboundXT will not result in ‘rebound’ phenomena because the inhibition is non-competitive and irreversible. They act as false substrates, so aromatase is still happy to act on them (instead of androstenedione) and the body keeps no record of an imbalance. There is no leaky faucet. In fact, after prolonged use, steroidal AI’s often produce a protracted anti-e benefit even after being discontinued. This is why I suggest an inverse taper with SERM and RXT for PCT with an abrupt stoppage of RXT at the end. As the SERM elevates androgen/estrogen production, the AI dose is increased to compensate while the SERM is phased out. It works quite well to use this approach and rebound is not encountered. Adding LX and/or DHEA also really makes for a killer PCT in this scheme.

Notice I phase the Clomid out and introduce the Nolva later. This helps prevent sides from developing from accumulation of estrogenic metabolites from the Clomid and also acts to minimize the use of Nolva, which is more liver toxic than Clomid. Rebound is very unlikely and estrogen biosynthesis will likely be significantly lowered for 3+ wks even after the end of this PCT. I do long ones, as you can see.”

Letrozole appears to be a great new weapon in the arsenal to combat excess estrogen production. Until now we have had drugs like Clomid, Nolvadex and Proviron which all did a good job eliminating estrogen an estrogenic side effects. Letrozole eliminates estrogen through a different mechanism and does so very effectively. In studies just 2.5mg daily eliminated over 80% of estrogen in users. Early reports from the bodybuilding community have been excellent. Users report that doses as low as 0.5mg daily can be effective in eliminating the side effects from aromitizing steroids such as testosterone and Dianabol. Even with these small doses of letrozole it appears that gynocomastia and water retention are blocked. Using letrozole in small doses like this while “on” appears to give better muscle quality. Muscles appear harder and more defined with minimal water retention.

There are some negatives associated with the use of Letrozole. A strong aromatase inhibitor such as letrozole will also block the benefits of estrogen in our bodies. Namely this is estrogens effect on cholesterol values. Studies have shown that estrogen is beneficial for HDL (good) cholesterol values. By eliminating estrogen so completely we see a negative impact on cholesterol values as well. Weaker compounds such as SERM’s and ATD do not effect cholesterol negatively so they are preferred for those concerned with cardiovascular health.

A second negative effect of letrozole is that it will kill your libido. Estrogen plays a part in libido even for men. By eliminating estrogen in your body you also eliminate your libido. This effect can become apparent in as little as 4-5 days with some users.

Finally, letrozole is expensive compared to Nolvadex and Clomid. It can be quite expensive for regular use, but since it gets rid of the side effects associated with strong aromatizing steroids so well it will make a cycle more comfortable. There are generic versions of letrozole available as well as privately compounded liquid letrozole sold as research chemicals that can provide a cost effective alternative to the brand name Femara.

One benefit of Clomid over Nolvadex is it appears that Clomid fools the body into believing that the estrogen level is low. This altered feedback information causes the hypothalamus (an area of the brain) to make and release more gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) which in turn causes the pituitary to make and release more FSH and LH. More follicle stimulating hormone and more luteinizing hormone should result in an increase in testosterone production as well.

Clomiphene citrate causes more side effects than Nolvadex. It will cause more acne, mostly because of the higher dosage. The more scary effect is that Clomid changes the eyesight of long term users. And the change is permanent. That alone is enough to scare me away from Clomiphene citrate, especially when Nolvadex is more potent and raises natural testosterone production.

Chrysin works as an aromatase inhibitor, basically it makes the aromatase enzyme inactive in the body. Since the aromatase enzyme is responsible for the conversion of testosterone to estrogen this has the effect of lowering estrogen levels and raising testosterone levels in the body.

European Olympic athletes report 1-3 grams of chrysin per day is a safe and effective dose.

Chrysin is an all natural supplement so it is great for those athletes who need to pass drug tests to participate in their sports. Or even for those who don’t want to go the route of chemical supplements. In combination with a natural test booster such as tribulus terrastris or something like Divanil (the active ingredient in ActivaTe by Designer Supplements) you get a great all natural stack that works to increase testosterone while decreasing estrogen. The end result is more lean muscle, less water retention and a harder more defined look to your muscles.

1,4,6 etioallocholan-dione (ATD) is the first ingredient in Arom-X. ATD is an aromatase inhibitor (AI). This means it stops the body from forming the aromatase enzyme which the body uses to convert androgens to estrogen. Thus you get a decrease in estrogen in the body with a concurrent rise in testosterone since the test is not being aromatized into estrogen. This makes ATD very useful after finishing a legal steroid cycle to help in raising natural testosterone production back to normal. It can also be used in smaller doses along with legal steroids to help minimize any side effects associated with excessive estrogen. Larger doses of ATD can cause a decrease in libido.

3a-Hydroxyetioallocholan Ethyl Ester is the second ingredient in Arom-X. It is a new anti-aromatase that is meant to compliment ATD as it increases libido. It is also reported to increase focus and aggression. All of these are very desirable when in post-cycle therapy.

I have used ATD before and it works very well in controlling estrogen. And as stated it is very powerful stuff so be careful. I suggest starting off at just 1/2 the recommended dose to see how your body responds. The 3a-Hydroxyetioallocholan Ethyl Ester may help in maintaining your libido, but it is best not to wipe out ALL of your estrogen.

Arom-X also contains Beta Sitosterol which has been shown to have activity in promoting prostate health. It also has cholesterol lowering activity which is useful because cholesterol levels can get very high if you decrease estrogen too much.

Arimidex works differently from SERM’s. Instead of blocking the receptors for estrogen it blocks the conversion of aromatizable steroids to estrogen. In this way it eliminates estrogen from the users body. In fact it often eliminates estrogen too well. If you are going to use Arimidex for longer than 1 week I recommend that you monitor your blood estrogen level to determine proper dosing. You don’t want to completely eliminate estrogen, just reduce it.
